Program Description

The BSc in Laboratory Medicine trains students to become skilled medical laboratory scientists. Students study pathology, hematology, microbiology, biochemistry, and molecular diagnostics, with a focus on accuracy, safety, and ethics. The one year internship offers hands-on experience in hospitals and diagnostic labs. Graduates are prepared for careers in hospitals, clinics, research, and public health, with opportunities for postgraduate specialization.

  • Laboratory facilities: (Anatomy lab, Physiology & hematology lab, Microbiology lab, Biochemistry lab, Community Medicine lab, Histo & cytopathology lab, Computer lab)
  • 1 year In-Course-Training’ in the recognized Government & Privet Medical/Hospital or any other institute.
  • Modern rich library with online facilities
  • Separate Standard hostel facilities for girls and boy’s
  • Canteen

Eligibility for Admission:
Candidates are eligible for admission to the Bachelor of Laboratory Medicine program under Rajshahi Medical University if they meet the following criteria:
● Have passed the SSC and HSC examinations in the Science group with Biology, either in the current year or within the past two years.

● Achieved a combined GPA of 7.00, with a minimum of GPA 2.50 in both SSC and HSC.

● Alternatively, candidates who have completed a recognized equivalent examination, either nationally or internationally, are also eligible.

●Additionally, candidates who have completed a 4-year diploma in Laboratory Medicine are eligible for admission to the Bachelor of Physiotherapy program.

You are a Medical Technologist/Scientific Officer, as well as a Lab-in-Charge at various government and private hospital diagnostic centers, and can work as an Instructor/Lecturer at an Institute of Health Technology.

Opportunity for higher study: After completing a BSc in Laboratory Medicine, you can pursue higher degrees such as MSc in Medical Technology, MSc in Biochemistry, MSc in Biotechnology and MSc in Microbiology at various government and private universities.
In addition, by obtaining a high score in the IELTS or GRE exams, a student can easily earn a Master’s degree at various universities abroad.
