History of ICHS
Saic College of Medical Science and Technology, a part of the esteemed Saic Group, has been delivering high-quality allied medical education in Bangladesh for over 20 years. With a strong legacy of excellence, the college has been instrumental in shaping skilled healthcare professionals.
Continuing this commitment, Ittehad College of Health Science in Dinajpur, affiliated with Rajshahi Medical University and managed by the Saic Group, is opening new horizons in allied health education. The college now offers B.Sc in Physiotherapy, B.Sc in Optometry, B.Sc in Occupational Therapy, B.Sc in Speech & Language Therapy and B.Sc in Laboratory Medicine programs.
With modern campus facilities, experienced faculty, and an up-to-date curriculum, Ittehad College of Health Science is dedicated to fostering the next generation of healthcare professionals and contributing significantly to the growth of the allied health sector in Bangladesh.

Among the five basic needs of human beings, healthcare is one of the most crucial. Ensuring access to healthcare is vital for the development and progress of a nation. This is why the government has formulated the National Health Policy, aiming to establish healthcare as a fundamental right for all citizens in accordance with the constitution and international agreements.
To make healthcare services accessible to the people, the government has established specialized hospitals, district hospitals, upazila health complexes, and community clinics. However, due to the shortage of skilled manpower, the government has not been able to achieve its desired goals. Therefore, there is a need to further expand allied health courses alongside medical doctors to strengthen the health sector. In this regard, under the Saic Group and Rajshahi Medical University, Ittehad College of Health Science in Dinajpur has been established in 2024, opening new avenues in B.Sc in Optometry, B.Sc. in Physiotherapy and B.Sc. in Laboratory Medicine education.

Healthcare is a recognized human right and is globally acknowledged as a crucial indicator of human resource development. Among the 17 goals and 169 targets of Bangladesh’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), healthcare, which is the third most important issue, has been given the highest priority with a deadline of 2030. To deliver healthcare services to the people, Qualified health workers are needed in addition to Medical doctors, Optometrists, Physiotherapists, Nurses, technologists in various fields, and physician assistants. Their necessity is indispensable to ensure the quality of healthcare. Recognizing this need, Saic College of Medical Science and Technology (SCMST) first launched Allied Health Courses in 2005. Over time, students who have graduated from SCMST are now working in renowned hospitals, diagnostic centers, and clinics across Bangladesh. Currently, SCMST has established internationally standard labs on its campus to ensure quality teaching of these courses. It has a large panel of teachers, including foreign faculty members. Apart from practical classes, SCMST students are also provided direct internship at government hospitals/Institute. In addition to strengthening students academically, 100% job placement is ensured through its own ‘Job Placement Cell’. This is why Saic College of Medical Science and Technology stands out from other traditional institutions.
In the same manner, under the direct supervision of SCMST, Ittehad College of Health Science (ICHS) has been established in Dinajpur with the goal of providing internationally standard health education, equipped with skilled faculty members, modern laboratory equipments, digital classrooms, and e-library facility, in its own 10-storied academic building.

The Ittehad College of Health Science (ICHS) is at Dinajpur with the aim to cover this sort of skillfull education for northern students. It is duly affiliated with Rajshahi Medical University (RMU). The campus is located at Mirzapur, Suihari, Dinajpur which is near by the Dinajpur Govt College and near to central Bus terminal as well.
In Bangladesh’s socio-economic context, healthcare manpower is crucial for delivering services at grassroots levels. Ittehad College of Health Sciences is dedicated to meeting this need by providing facilities and quality education. Currently we have three programs B.Sc in Optometry, B.Sc. in Physiotherapy and B.Sc. in Laboratory Medicine. Our goal is aligned with national health policies to establish healthcare as a fundamental right. We prioritize modern education methods and practical training to produce skilled healthcare workers. The college has well equipped Lab and smart class room and standard hostel facilities.
